Rhombus Space Presents "Select" Featuring Artwork by Katherine Keltner, Alexandra Posen, Shawn Powell and Aaron Williams

Katherine Keltner, Crossing Paths, 2014. Archival Injet print on canvas with thread 48 x 34”

Rhombus Space presents Select, an exhibition featuring artwork by Katherine Keltner, Alexandra Posen, Shawn Powell and Aaron Williams.
Curated by Katerina Lanfranco
Exhibition Dates: May 13 – May 17, 2015.

These four artists explore their work in a fresh approach that expands our notion of abstractions. Katherine Keltner sews into digitally printed and stretched canvas to draw out formal connections. Alexandra Posen applies her experience in fashion to create layered chiffon silk paintings where the material translucency exposes the inner workings of the piece. Shawn Powell makes paintings on sheet rock and canvas to explore the distance between the painting and the wall. Aaron Williams' work also questions the relationship between a painting and the wall by interrupting the viewer's expectations in making works that show a connection between modes of interior design and painting.

Keltner, Posen, Powell and Williams respond to current dialogues in abstract art, by making visually stunning work that presents a thoughtful and disciplined investigation of form and material in abstraction.

Rhombus Space is presenting "Select" at the Select Art Fair at Booth 408.
